A poor documentation of my journey getting the R730 to boot into Proxmox from M.2 NVMe via PCIe adapter. I will elaborate as to this entire process in a later video. Initially, it appeared as though the R730 had no problem recognizing the M.2. drive as I was able to install Proxmox onto it without an issue, but for reasons yet unknown to me, the R730 simply isn't able to boot from the PCIe adapter. Despite my drivers being updated, it would seem the R730 firmware has yet to receive an update to enable this (?). Ultimately, this resorted to downloading the "Clover EFI Boot Loader" SOURCE: https://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/ Once downloaded, I followed this guide to essentially create a bootable USB that enables the R730 to boot from the PCIe adapter. ARTICLE: https://www.tachytelic.net/2020/10/dell-poweredge-install-boot-pci-nvme/ Big shout out to Paul Murana for that easy to understand, to the point article that quickly resolved the issue and got my server back up and running. Now that the homelab is back online we can get back to server related content. I've just got to get my priority servers back online before diving in what I hope to be an Private AI focused endeavor.
